OUR BELIEFS

We Believe the Bible

We believe that the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, is the undeniable word of God. We believe the Bible is written without error and is the single source of truth for humanity. Every word is inspired by the Holy Spirit through ordinary individuals. We believe nothing can be added to or taken away from the Scriptures. We believe that everything preached must align with the word of God.

(2 Timothy 3: 16 – 17)

We Believe in the Trinity

We believe there is only one true and living God. He eternally exists in three persons, who are all equal in every divine perfection and execute distinct but harmonious roles in the work of creation, providence, and redemption.

(2 Corinthians 13: 14)

The Father

We believe in God the Father, Creator and King of the universe. He is an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. He concerns Himself mercifully with the affairs of men, hears and answers prayers, and saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Christ Jesus, His Son.

(James 1: 16 – 18)

The Son

We believe in Jesus Christ, our Lord, the only begotten Son of God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. We believe that Jesus Christ suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; He descended into hell and, on the third day, rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father Almighty; from there He will come to judge the living and the dead. Only through Jesus Christ do we have forgiveness of sins and life everlasting.

(John 3: 16 – 18)

The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is an equal member of the Godhead with a specific role. He convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He is a Comforter, Teacher, Revealer, and Guide who permanently indwells a born-again believer.

(Ephesians 1: 13 – 14)

Salvation

We believe that everyone has sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and that all are in need of salvation. We hold that Jesus Christ is the only path to salvation and eternal life. If you repent of your sins, confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

(Romans 10:9)

The Church

We believe in the holy, universal, and apostolic Church. The Church is called to worship God and bear witness to the lost about Jesus Christ, its Head. It is committed to preaching the Gospel to all nations and demonstrating this commitment through compassionate service to those in need, showing the love of Jesus to others.

(Ephesians 4:15-16)

Baptism

We believe the Bible clearly outlines three essential baptisms that every Christian should receive to fully obey God: the Baptism of Salvation, the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, and the Baptism in Water.

Baptism of Salvation

We believe that this is the one baptism that everyone needs to receive in order to attain salvation. This baptism occurs when the Holy Spirit immerses an individual’s spirit into our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As a result, the individual is sealed with the Holy Ghost and receives salvation and eternal life.

(1 Corinthians 12:13)

Baptism into the Holy Spirit

We believe in receiving the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. This occurs when Jesus takes an individual and baptizes them in the Holy Spirit. This believer has now received the infilling of the Holy Ghost, with the evidence of speaking in tongues. While this baptism is not necessary for salvation, it is essential for ministry. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit equips a believer to powerfully advance the kingdom of God. Receiving the Baptism of the Holy Spirit also qualifies you to receive the active gifts of the Holy Spirit (found in 1 Corinthians 12:8-10). This gift is only available to those who have already given their lives to Christ.

(Matthew 3:11)

Baptism into Water

We believe in Baptism into Water. This baptism occurs only after an individual has accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior. It serves as an outward expression of faith and obedience to God, performed by a member of the Church. This involves the full submersion of the believer, symbolically representing their old self being buried and their resurrection with Christ. While this baptism is not necessary for salvation, it is necessary for obedience to God.

(Acts 10:47-48)

Sin

We believe that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. That is why Jesus led a sinless life and was offered as a sacrifice to cleanse all those who believe in Him of their sins. When a believer comes to Christ, God deems their old identity of sin to be dead and powerless. They are now new individuals with new identities, forever alive to God. A believer’s spirit may not be able to sin, but the flesh and mind still can. Though one may not lose their salvation, the consequences of sin remain relevant in this life. Therefore, all believers should be alert to the creeping effects of sin and avoid compromising. We believe that God is against all sin. So believers should be as well. We do NOT condone any kind of sin!

(Romans 6:23)

We Believe the Apostles Creed

I believe in God, the Father Almighty,

The Creator of heaven and earth,

And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord:

Who was conceived of the Holy Spirit,

Born of the Virgin Mary,

Suffered under Pontius Pilate,

Was crucified, died, and was buried.

He descended into hell.

The third day He arose again from the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,

The holy catholic (universal) church,

The communion of the saints,

The forgiveness of sin,

The resurrection of the body,

And life everlasting.

Amen.
